GameDrive copies a CD or DVD into a compressed disc-image file, or virtual disc. A driver in the software fools Windows into treating the virtual disc as a physical disc in a CD-ROM drive. With GameDrive, you can create up to 23 virtual drives (D: through Z:) and an unlimited number of virtual discs.
Once a CD has been copied, a virtual image of that disc appears in the GameDrive interface. To launch it, you insert it into an open virtual drive or double click on a desktop shortcut to the file. With up to 23 virtual drives available instead of just one physical CD/DVD-ROM drive, you can run several virtual discs simultaneously, swapping out PC games without having to wait for spinup times.
