FarStone Extends Virtual Class Promotion Deadline
Offer allows school districts and universities to save on the purchase of Virtual Class™ classroom broadcast software
Irvine, CA — January 13, 2005 — FarStone Technology, Inc. has extended the deadline for its Virtual Class “Gold Star” Promotion through February 14. The offer, which was originally slated to end on January 31, makes it easy for schools and business learning centers to afford a classroom solution that allows instructors to monitor student computers, take control of individual systems for the purpose of demonstration, and broadcast a computer desktop across a local area network.
“We are sensitive to customer concerns about funding and budget deadlines, particularly in the non-profit sector, and so we have responded appropriately by extending this discount for another two weeks,” said Tom Fedro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at FarStone.
Lauded by teachers and students alike as time-saving and easy-to-use, Virtual Class is a multimedia broadcast solution that creates a “virtual classroom” over a LAN, increasing student productivity and expanding teaching options. Students can can view an instructor’s screen in real time while simultaneously participating in a normal classroom environment. Teachers can broadcast the desktop of a model student across the network, monitor and control multiple student computers in real time, electronically distribute and collect homework, and block unwanted activity on student systems.
John Gaspar, a computer lab teacher at Waldo Middle School in the East Aurora School District #131 in Illinois, said, “VirtualClass has made teaching easier with the click of a few keys. The ability to broadcast to the students what I am doing on my computer has greatly improved the teaching process, and I love the ability to be able to monitor what my students are doing on their computers. By having the ability to monitor my students, I am confident that they are doing their school work. The students like the fact that they can see the actual demonstration on their monitors.”
