FarStone Software to Ship with Intel® Motherboards
Intel will offer FarStone RestoreIT®, VirtualDrive®, and GameDrive® on select desktop motherboards
IRVINE, CA — March 16, 2005 — Intel Corporation has agreed to ship FarStone RestoreIT data backup software, VirtualDrive CD emulator, and GameDrive CD emulator on Intel desktop boards with the new Intel 945/955 Express Chipsets.
Announced at the Intel Solutions Summit, a gathering of Intel Premier Provider channel partners, the licensing agreement calls for the bundling of FarStone software with Intel motherboards, including Intel Executive, Media, and Extreme Edition series platforms. This latest deal extends an existing arrangement with the world’s leading computer chip manufacturer, and is meant to benefit Intel customers with easy-to-use data backup and convenient CD emulation for disc-based applications.

RestoreIT data backup and recovery software empowers end users with a portfolio of system backup, disaster recovery, and lost file retrieval options. The software automatically backs up system and personal files to a protected partition on the hard drive, and does complete manual backup to CD, DVD or external USB hard drive.
VirtualDrive and GameDrive CD-DVD emulators create images, or virtual CDs, out of disc-based applications. This allows users to run games and other disc-based applications as files directly on their hard drive, and to easily archive CD-DVD collections. CD emulators are an ideal solution for libraries, businesses requiring easy access to CD-ROM-based information, gamers on the go, and parents with small children.
