Microgistix Markets FarStone Software
Agreement with the large distributor makes FarStone RestoreIT® and VirtualDrive® available though Dell’s online store
Irvine, CA — July 12, 2005 — A deal with Microgistix will soon make FarStone RestoreIT 6.5 data backup software and VirtualDrive 9 CD emulator available though Dell Online.
Specializing in software distribution, Microgistix seeks titles that add value to established distribution channels. The partnership with FarStone calls for Microgistix to package RestoreIT 6.5 and VirtualDrive 9 in individual DVD boxes.
“System recovery solutions and replication utilities are much sought after by consumers and businesses,” said Stacy Grochowski, partner marketing manager at Microgistix.
Tom Fedro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FarStone, explains that continuous data protection (CDP) offers a safety net for system recovery and data loss. “RestoreIT is a compelling CDP solution empowering users with affordable, easy Personal Disaster Recovery™, while VirtualDrive protects original discs from loss, damage, and theft. We believe that RestoreIT and VirtualDrive add significant value to the PC experience, and are pleased that Microgistix has agreed to distribute these two key FarStone products.”
About RestoreIT 6.5
RestoreIT data backup and recovery software empowers end users with a portfolio of system backup, disaster recovery, and lost file retrieval options. The software automatically backs up system and personal files to a hidden, protected partition on the hard drive, and does complete manual backup to CD/DVD or USB external hard drive. RestoreIT continues to operate in pre-OS mode — in other words, it will still launch and recover data when Windows does not boot.
About VirtualDrive 9
VirtualDrive 9 provides an easy way to access and manage CD/DVD collections. Users can simply create “virtual CDs,” or images of their CDs and DVDs and store them on their hard drive or a portable medium, then click on a desktop shortcut to launch a favorite application. Virtual CDs have access rates up to 200 times faster than physical discs in a CD/DVD-ROM drive, and FarStone’s patented RapidCache® technology further improves performance by essentially eliminating disc spin-up times.
