FarStone Earns Patent for Data Backup and Recovery

US Patent Office awards patent to FarStone for RestoreIT^® automatic restore points

IRVINE, CA — August 23, 2006 — The United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Patent Number 7,039,830 to FarStone Technology for its RestoreIT data backup and recovery technology. FarStone has already received 12 patents for system recovery, with several more being processed to complement the company’s growing patent portfolio.

The latest FarStone patent concerns RestoreIT’s ability to automatically create restore points on a PC before downloading content from the Internet. These restore points allow a user to quickly erase system problems caused by malicious downloads, malware, or faulty program installations.

FarStone currently delivers RestoreIT in various consumer and OEM versions. RestoreIT is is also deployed as a service through several OEM and ISP partners.
