FarStone Signs New European Republishing Agreements

Partnerships with Editions Profil and Mediaphor will deliver French and German versions of FarStone software to Europe

IRVINE, CA — October 25, 2006 — FarStone Technology, a developer of data backup, hard disk imaging, and CD emulation software, has formed or renewed partnerships with two major European resellers. The deal will deliver French and German localized versions of RestoreIT® data backup software, DriveClone™ hard drive imaging utility, and VirtualDrive®, CD/DVD emulator to Western European markets.

Based in Montrouge, France, Editions Profil currently distributes FarStone software in over 20 purchasing outlets in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, including FNAC and Amazon.fr.

Based in Paderborn, Germany, Mediaphor sell language-localized versions RestoreIT and VirtualDrive to the German consumer market. The software will be available to more than 300,000 subscribed customers through the Mediaphore online store.

Users create virtual CDs, or images of their CDs and DVDs, then click on them to load them into any one of up to 23 virtual CD/DVD drives that the software creates. RestoreIT 7 is a powerful data recovery utility that automatically backs up all files on a computer to a protected partition of the hard drive. RestoreIT loads before Windows and will launch even when Windows does not boot.
DriveClone 2 copies an exact image of a computer’s hard drive or hard drive partitions and stores the image as a compressed archive of all files, all partition information, and all security information. DriveClone allows users to back up and recover data, clone a single hard drive onto another drive, or copy a hard drive across multiple computer systems.
HackerSmacker 3 is a personal firewall with an easy-to-understand interface and pre-set security levels to allow quick set-up for less technical users.
