SteelCloud Selects RestoreIT® for Its Appliance Management Software
FarStone RestoreIT offers built-in data backup and recovery
IRVINE, CA — February 7, 2007 — SteelCloud, Inc., a Mississippi-based computer manufacturing company, has signed a deal with FarStone Technology to provide system recovery for its appliance servers.
Independent software vendors, who deliver their applications on ready-to-deploy SteelCloud servers, have identified system recovery as one of their most difficult support challenges and as a feature that customers often request.
In response to this demand, SteelCloud is incorporating FarStone’s patented RestoreIT technology into SteelWorks™, the company’s appliance management software suite.
With the integration of RestoreIT, SteelWorks now offers a kind of insurance policy against data loss and server system problems. RestoreIT creates a complete backup image of the server system and automatically updates that image at assigned intervals. In case of a malware incident or even a complete OS failure, users have the ability to roll back their systems to a known good point.
“We are pleased to help SteelCloud create a more robust appliance server,” said Tom Fedro, Executive Vice President of FarStone. “FarStone has devoted significant resources to the development of server and network data backup and recovery solutions. This partnership with SteelCloud offers tangible benefits to small business customers.”
