DriveClone Pro backs up your entire system with a hard drive image saved to USB hard drive, a network share, or to CD/DVD. This complete backup image offers a baseline backup point for any future system recovery.

The software will prompt you to schedule automatic incremental updates to your complete backup image to keep data fresh and ensure a minimum of data loss in the event of a catastrophic data disaster.

Creating a Complete Backup

  1. In the Back Up window, select Back Up My Computer.
  2. Choose Create a New Complete Backup, enter a name in the Job Name field, and click Get Started.
  3. Select the hard drive or partition(s) you wish to back up. Click Next.
  4. Browse for a location to save your backup image. You can choose another partition on your system, an external USB storage device, a network share, or you can burn the image to CD/DVD.
  5. If you save your image to CD/DVD, DriveClone Pro will calculate the space requirement and let you know how many discs are needed.
  6. Select a level of compression. Highly compressed images take more time to render but save disk space.
  7. Choose a password if you want to limit access to the image.
Complete backup
A Complete Backup is an image that includes all data, settings, and system information on a drive or partition.

Scheduling Incremental Backups

When your backup image is complete, DriveClone Pro will ask if you want to schedule incremental backup to keep the data in your disk image current. Incremental backup functions as a “layer” of new information on your original disk image, and records only the changes that have occurred on your hard drive since you last backed it up.
