RAID Support for DriveClone 3, DriveClone 3.5 Pro, and DriveClone 3.5 Server
DriveClone 3, DriveClone 3.5 Pro, and DriveClone 3.5 Server support RAID 0 and 1 hardware. Supported hardware RAID is defined as IDE, SATA, or SCSI controller add-on cards attached by means of a motherboard’s ISA, PCI, or SCSI expansion slots.
DriveClone hardware RAID support depends on the availability of Windows and Linux drivers on your system. As DriveClone products image or clone your hard drive within Windows, they use RAID drivers within your Windows operating system. However, as they restore your system from complete backups, incremental backups, or system snapshots, they boot into a Linux-based pre-OS area and then use Linux DMRAID to support hardware RAID.
If you’re not using RAID, but have an active RAID controller, we recommend that you disable or uninstall the controller.
